This tastefully updated family cottage w/ private dock on Damariscotta Lake was built for year round enjoyment. Nestled in a cove w/ resident beaver, spring peepers, late summer bullfrogs, and frequent visits by bald eagles, osprey, owls & loons, this is a phenomenal retreat for nature lovers & anglers. Sleeps 3 couples or 2 families with kids & friends.

Good to know

The two level floor-plan comfortably accommodates 2 families with their children (or 3 couples) & includes some less private (but totally sweet!) spots for a few extra friends. There are views of the lake from nearly every room. Especially the upstairs living room w/ propane fireplace and attached screened porch. The futon and sleeping mats on the porch are a great places for a few extra guests to sleep in summer to listen to the frogs and loons and owls. The queen bedroom with attached full bath is on the same floor. As is the fully equipped kitchen, 1/2 bath, and another sleeping nook for one. Downstairs in the daylight basement there are more lake views. The back bunk room has a full bed with a single bunk above and a single trundle underneath. The third bedroom is also downstairs and it has a moon/sun rise view of the lake from the king sized bed and its own sitting area. The 3/4 bath downstairs is shared by these two bedrooms, as is the kitchenette with sink, microwave and minifridge. The large living room has a home theater sized TV with an old school Atari game system. There is a sauna and wood stove for the cool seasons. The dock is a short walk down the hill through our forest. Lots of outdoor furniture, including a Solo Stove for campfires by the water's edge. Several paddle powered boats are available for guests to use. The fishing is great. This year we've added a floating trampoline for swimming and diving out in the deep water.

Other Details to Note

This is a quiet location for families and friends to enjoy. Please no events, fireworks, late loud nights.

There are four houses in our subdivision. 2 others are also on the lake. The fourth is just up the hill from ours. Across the cove is Wavus Camp, which used to own all this land. Our lot abuts a huge acreage of their waterfront, woods and wetlands.

Guest Access

This private lake side cottage sits in a very quiet cove across from a summer camp. The waterfront acreage between us and the camp on the peninsula is wild and undeveloped. The private dock floats on about 4.5 feet of water. There are three other houses in our subdivision, each occupied by year round owners who are accustomed to their quiet solitude. Therefore, dogs and events are NOT allowed.

Tobey’s place felt just like home. This cabin was the most perfect place to get away from the hustling and bustling of New York City. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch where we didn’t have to worry about any bugs and made lifelong memories on the dock soaking up the sun in the Adirondack chairs. This home had absolutely everything we could need and more and we were so impressed with how the house looked even better than the photos. Tobey is so helpful and responds immediately to any questions. All around amazing - thank you Tobey!!

Our stay at Tobey's home was beautiful. The home is warm and inviting. Tobey is very quick to respond to questions. We fished right from the dock and kayak catching large mouth bass. The bald eagle did his evening fly by as well. Being from 103 feels like temp of Florida to this summer paradise was a treat. Will be back with the whole family in the future. So much space!

This place was an absolute dream. Woke up to hummingbirds dancing all day, and fell asleep to the lullaby of peepers, loons, and owls echoing through the cove at night (from the bug-free screened-in porch, no less!). The sauna was the perfect touch, and just a quick walk down to jump off the dock into that wild, quiet lake… pure bliss. The layout was so thoughtfully designed. There’s a cozy den/theater room for movie nights, plenty of comfy seating areas to curl up in, and the beds? Super comfortable. It worked beautifully for our little mix of couples, kids, and solo folks, everyone had their own nook to retreat to. Honestly, it just felt like a soft landing. A perfect blend of nature, comfort, and spaciousness. Thank you for creating such a special space!

Tobey was a gracious host. I really enjoyed my time there and would stay again in the future. It was perfect for my large family. Very comfortable, peaceful and beautiful with lots of character. We had plenty of private space and a variety of other shared common areas. It was just as described and then some. My son loved the chess table and screened in porch the most. Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Beds were super comfy. Thank You Tobey❗️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This place is truly a Maine heaven. It’s right on the lake, a beautiful dock, absolutely picturesque. There are so many ways to configure sleeping arrangements, and the SAUNA did not disappoint either!! Tobey was ready and waiting to answer any questions, but otherwise stayed completely out of our way. This is a new gem!
